2 months until graduation...yikes!

Hello, you lovely followers of my ever-fabulous blog. I hope you are all having a fantastic 2014 so far! Mine has been busy, but it has been a interesting ride also!

In January, I cheered for basketball and wrestling. I was only supposed to cheer one wrestling meet (since I was a senior, I wanted to do at least one meet before I graduated and couldn't anymore), but due to their need of another loud voice, I became a permanent wrestling cheerleader. Throughout the entire wrestling season, I cheered. When Marcus made it to state, our squad went down and cheered for him at the State Wrestling Meet in February. It was a very fun time! Our basketball cheerleaders stirred up a lot of drama when they found out who was going to the state meet, but everything is now settled (well, for the most part). Aside from cheerleading, I participated in Dorian Honor Choir, UIC Honor Band, and the Music Carnival. At Carnival, I was one of the five emcees and I sang a solo, which was Stay by Rihanna.

February was filled with mostly spring musical practices. This year, we are putting on The Little Mermaid Jr., and I was lucky enough to snag the part of Ursula. Being that I have a slightly-evil nature, I've been told I'm a perfect fit for the part. (In case you want to attend, the shows are on March 21 and 22). There were also a few trips to Prairie, some relationship drama, unexpected surprises, and some crazy times working at Schera's with Sam and Charlie.

Now comes the exciting part: SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRADUATION PLANS. For school, I have already completed my National Honor Society essay and resume, and I just finished getting Everfi certified and completed my Dollars for Scholars packet. This Saturday, March 1st, my mother and I are attending a scholarship recognition day at Upper Iowa University, where I and multiple others will be recognized by UIU's dean for our scholarship award. Upon being accepted to UIU, I received a merit scholarship of $14,000, which is renewable every year that I attend. I plan to major in Psychology and minor in Mortuary Science.

Next comes graduation invitations, getting more senior pictures printed, planning the party, and filling out more scholarship applications! My graduation party will be June 7, 2014, at the Freedom Bank Community Room in Elkader (time has yet to be determined). SAVE THE DATE!

It just seems really surreal that I will be walking into the gym, wearing a cap and gown, while the band plays Pomp and Circumstance in two months. I can't imagine being out of high school, even though we all have plans for after graduation already. I'm going to miss all the students, sports, events, and the little things like advisor meetings, locker hearts, harassing Paula, etc. I will most definitely be at every home football and volleyball game next fall though, because I'm going to make Mr. Dubis bring me quads so I can play, and I love watching those sports.

That is all I have to say for now, enjoy the weekend! :)
